I understood that but his mind wasn't getting younger, just his body.
You see, the message I took from the movie was that we should leave our partners whilst still in our prime because we are inevitably going to deteriorate and become nothing more than a burden to them. I don't think that's a very good moral for a film to promote.

That's why I think I'm maybe missing something.
Also when he was in his worst condition towards the end, she was left caring for him anyway (when he was in a similar state to an old person with dementia).

Yes, but it wasn't so much to do with his mind was getting younger, more to do with his mind deteriorating as it would with old age.
When Daisy went to see him as a child the man who greeted her said his condition was comaparble to early dementia.

It may not have gotten best film, but would definetly win the most boring, most overatted, most annoying and worst film of its year award.
