Well said Professor. Back in the early 70's while going to art school in Boston I was a banquet waiter at the Hilton Hotel. I remember doing functions that were about Bonds for Israel. Lots of people getting together, having some good food, listening to interesting speakers and then buying bonds that would help Israel. If all aid was cut off I firmly believe these fundraisers could be held all over the world and Israel would get their 3 Billion dollars easily. Ron Paul is right. No need to panic
@senatortombstone Americans were BOMBING and KILLING arabs all through the 90s. They attacked us because they wanted to get revenge for our acts...... and frankly I don't blame them. If (for example) Canada was randomly bombing our cities, I'd probably become a terrorist too and strike back against the Canada
@harleykman I never stated that all Muslims are bad. My point was that Ron Paul is incorrect when he labels 9/11 and acts of jihad terror as blowback resulting from America's foreign policy. Rather, these acts are rooted in Islamic doctrine, history, and its sacred texts: the Koran, Hadith, and Sira.
@senatortombstone Just because there are a few bad Muslims doesn't mean they are all bad. After all Jews and Christians have been caught saying, "Gays should burn in hell," and in some case beating-up gy people, but I wouldn't use that to indict all followers of those religions
Looks like a jew, talks like a jew, says he a jew...must be a jew. I'll take him at his word that Ron Paul is not antisemitic. My sweetheart is 100% jew. I wouldn't support Ron Paul if I thought he were antisemitic.
I agree with Block, Ron Paul is not an anti-Semite. However, saying that Gaza is a concentration camp is not only insensitive, it is false, ignorant and naive. I think Paul is right on all economic issues he discusses, but his he is grossly ignorant and naive on the existential threat of Islam and jihad. Not every act of Muslim aggression against the West is blowback. Rather, it is devout Muslims who believe themselves acting in accordance with their religious doctrine.

Cool post. I'm Canadian, trying to understand your leadership race/election.
From the outside looking in it's a two horse race. Obama vs. Paul
Americans don't seem to agree. Why on earth aren't Americans fawning all over Ron Paul?
Every other candidate is bought and paid for. Aren't you guys sick of that yet?

Iran hasn't invaded any country the last many years?
Iran makes war on Israel many years now.
They send Hamas to Gaza and Hamas shot 4000 rockets into Israel.
They support Hezbollah with funding and weapons and Hezbollah attacked Israel a long time till they got a good beating.

Excellent points. Also, I read somewhere that, if the US didn't supply arms to Israel, Israel would have a thriving arms industry. RON PAUL, 2012!
