Finally got our tornado this year.
This was about 5 mile outside Aurora looking east.
This was Erics first tornado so needless to say he was a little excited as you can hear. This tornado lifted before it made a direct hit on Aurora. EF2 damage was reported at one farm house but thankfully no injuries were reported.

  • What a bunch of morons. I guess anyone with a car and a video camera can be called a storm chaser. I live 6 miles from where the tornado passed. I understand your excitement but I suppose it was "awesome" for all of you to see the damage and the house it destroyed. I have seen other videos from storm chasers here you guys could learn a little from the professionals. Show a little respect or shut the mic off.

  • We never saw the damage from the tornado because they closed off Aurora and would not let us pass, but Ill have you know we feared the worst for Aurora. sorry we had a man with us who had never seen a tornado and afterwards I had a long talk with him about his enthusiasm for this event.

  • I never like to see the damage these things may cause. I know it could have been alot worse. I just love to look at the sureal beauty of these event and I love how it always reminds me that WE are in mother natures way and it will take what it wants when it wants regardless.

sorry about the audia but if you didnt like it there is a button in the bottom left to turn it off. or better yet you dont have to watch it at all.

  • WOW would not want to be under that sky ... 5/5 stars! Great capture.

  • Thanks!

I would have liked to have gotten a little close, but we played it safe. we didnt know what kind of damage was ahead and we didnt have a vehicle worth beating up lol

  • My wife and I was on the Gallitin TN. tornado in April of 06 and let me tell you its a hard thing to watch knowing theres nothing you can do ATM to help but get a report out to stress the seriousness of the tornado. On that note it makes us try even harder to get that report just a minute earlier to help others reach a safe place that much quicker, Great video guys!

  • Its a rush to see them, and on the other hand when its your home threatened its not so good. As chasers/spotters ourselves, there is a fine line and the very first priority is to alert the local NWS office for timely and accurate reports. ive anlways said my ideal tornado is one doing no damage in a field.

  • One comment is enough I think. Even though this will make my third one.

The very first comment on this video is mine. I thought it was neat how Eric was all excited about his tornado experience.

  • I don't see any other comments from you.

  • Who would thumbs down this comment that I made? Nothing wrong with it!

  • pretty sure me and my dad were racing towards aurora to make sure my grandma was ok... so next time please contain your excitement. ya its cool seeing a tornado but a lot of peopole were worried for their family members in aurora that day.
