I have the very same bird (not the same colors but anyway) and it has 1 week uptime for now, I just had to refill the glass from time to time (2-3 days). I'll try to stop it and see if it starts from itself... perhaps it stops but it also has the ability to start again by itself.

As it swings the liquid inside warms up, causing it to rise. It hits the water and it gets cooled down, causing the liquid to lower.
