Evidence that Activision planned to charge subscription fees for Call of Duty?

The title of the menu reads, "Modern Warfare 2 Membersh". The last word is "Memberships" according to the message given in the menu. Could Activision be planning on charging us for CoD multiplayer?
Was trying to join a friend's session when this menu popped up. I don't know what caused it to appear, and I haven't been able to get it to appear again.
**Update!**
I have been informed that this menu appeared due to a system glitch. Activision, Infinity Ward, and Treyarch have all issued statements that Modern Warfare 2 and CoD: Black Ops will continue to offer free online play.

LoL if this happens I'd rather move to another fps just because cod really the online is the same thing online they change up guns or more perks so if this happens id just stop playing lol

I sincerely wish 009 Sound System would ban their songs from being used in any and all fan videos. Its the one time I'd actually be happy for copyright-enforcement.

The guy who mentioned that activision should charge for multiplayer is an analyst. He knows nothing. Damn, I should be an analyst.. Get paid to say shit that I don't know a thing about, then get to piss off everyone on xbl and psn? Yeah, this guy's a genius. Bottom line, too many people will quit if they do this.
