The 9mm is easier to handle for most people on average. The military went to the 9mm as a standard issue sidearm as it has a higher ammo capacity and less recoil. They still use the 45 in special forces and others.

i know why they switched but here's a question....why have they not taken a second look at this lately. I have an XD 45 that holds 13+1 rounds. Is that not enough capacity? I can also handle the XD better than i can a 9mm glock or M9. I think it's worth looking at.

The Croatian Army carries the gun the XD was designed after called the HS2000. Wikipedia Springfield XD for the story. I have the XD45 myself; perfect gun, still the most bang for the buck.
