Being an old hippie (now that's an oxymoron), I had a vision of what it would be like to have lights in my banjo that I could engage in the middle of a song. My son knows a lot about electricity, and how to use it. I had the concept, he had the design. He presented me with the product for Father's Day, 2008. I connected the string of of over 40 LEDs to a 4 cell AA battery pack, and a switch located at the heel of the neck. I needed something to liven up my drab playing (kidding). I play 5 string banjo for the Green Mountain Bluegrass Band... If you like good hard driving, straight ahead bluegrass music, then check out some of our videos.

  • This band is the Sawtooth Mountain Boys: Mike Eisler: banjo; Hal Spence: guitar; Steve Waller: mandolin; Rollie Champ: bass

  • Debbie, There is NO tablature for this arrangement. Although there is no tab available, I CAN tell you to tune your banjo to Gmin. You accomplish this by lowering the 3rd note in the G scale a 1/2 step. The 3rd note in the G scale is B. Lower your B string to A#. Then play along and find the melody. That's how I learned it, and that's how the author of the banjo break did it too! Incorporate a roll that hits the notes you want to get out of the melody!! (generally a forward roll).

  • Bush and Cheney will ride with them, "they've got to ride forever on that range up in the sky on horses snorting fire, I can hear their mournful cry".

  • I wonder which band did this?

  • Nice video and great music. I haven't played this tune on my banjo for 30 years...
