@shovelniron The US Coast Guard falls under the Department of Homeland Defense. It can be placed under the Department of the Navy in wartime. This last happened in WWII. It is often called the 5th Armed Force. Thanks for your post recognizing their efforts over there.

i wouldnt be too suprised if those "iranian speedboats" were just normal speed boats crewed by americans or israelies dressed as iranian sailors...hey dont laugh, usa and israel do those types of things.

WOW!! The stereotyping and stupidity gets old really fast! Not all americans are washed up like other countries think, just like not all other countries are washed up like americans think. This is the problem with the world as a whole, is pointing fingers and playing the blame game. Yes there is propaganda throughout the world, it doesn't mean every citizen of whatever country believes in it. BTW: The US Coast Guard is a life saving service no matter what part of the world they are underway in.

@bruendog1 1st , thank you for your service to the country. 2nd about 1/2 of my imediate family are commrcial fisherman. i know many coasties as we call them. i am aware that the cg is a part of the navy. but i didnt know that it was an expeditionary force.

@MrGOTAMA420, People don't understand what the US Coast Guard is all about. We are a military service under 14USC1. We have been involved in every major war in our nations history since 1790, and have been all over the world. I was in Iraq in 2004. Coast Guard doesn't mean we "guard the coast". We were the US Navy eight years before there ever was a US Navy.

The risk reward in this case, would be high on the risk side. china and or russia is not going to sit there and take it up the ass. Ask any credible strategic analyst and he or she will tell you the same thing.

Listen carefully... She stated that a larger Iranian naval vessel intervened and the small speed boats backed off. It wouldn't surprise me one little bit if these speed boats, ONCE AGAIN, are actually Israeli personnel flying the Iranian flag... the LITERAL definition of a "false flag", this is where the term originated. The Israelis HAVE done this EXACT same thing on multiple occasions to incite conflict between the U.S. and Iran.
