No savestates!

I completed the game and it's the first time. The game uses random map generator, locations of the castles and the routes differ in each play. Black castles hold prisoners who can be freed with keys to get an extra life. It's possible to use shortcuts for example with magic rings. There are different type of weapons which are effective against specific monsters. Monsters give visual or audio clues if they are in the adjacent room and can be shot through doors. Some of the carpets are magic and teleport to another location in the castle. Torches are black instead of yellow in rooms adjacent to bottomless pits. There's a review available which explains these things.

  • Such a good game. Good upload! (:

  • This used to give me nightmares when I was about 4. Used to watch my brother playing it. Couldn't remember what it was called until now. It was the purple things and the black things with fire in it's mouth?. And being able to hear they were about! Scary as a kid lol

  • 懐かしすぎる!

  • This game is fantastic. It is a bit like the old Wolfenstein games. I was impressed how the creatures follow you around and how you can shoot into the next room. The look is similar to Zelda, but Alcazar antedates Zelda.

There is no reason why this game shouldn't be remembered as a classic.

  • Is That the end of th egame ,when you open the door in the black castle?

  • thanks for posting, brings back a ton of memories. I use to play this on my uncle's computer when I was babysitting my cousins, early 1980 something, good times!

  • Never really understood the point of that game. Is it a pre-Zelda dungeon crawler?

  • Extremely good game! I used to play this all the time when i was a kid... I would like to see a modern 3D remake of this one!
