Many benefactors of Mugabe's rule will defend him...to remain in their lifestyle.

What most of these people dont want to hear is at what cost. Mugabe took land from whites and gave it to his generals. I hear one general has 11 farms taken over since 1980.

Land was never for the people it has always been his political tool.

Whites do not control 70% of Zimbabwe's arable land. Mugabe drove farmers from all but 5% of the land and gave it to political allies who use the farms for personal estates. There are fewer than 500 left. The land no longer produces food. Zimbabwe was the breadbasket of east Africa. Now it is a basket case. There is nobody to blame for Zimbabwe's plight but Mugabe. He has looted the country and destroyed its currency. Now a once beautiful country has fallen to pieces and it slowly dying.

i have never heard a more laughable statement! the vast majority of africa is tropical!!! afrikans produce an abundance of food locally when not interfered with by westerners. zimbabwe was the breadbasket of EUROPE!!!

Zimbabwe was the breadbasket of SOUTHERN Africa- It was the SADC country responsible for food production and distribution when its neighbours were struggling to provide. Anyone who can call southern africa tropical has obviously never been there.

The food produced by the large scale commercial farms (white owned or otherwise) fed the nation. now all we have left are small scale subsistance farms- barely able to feed those who work them.

Look we in west Africa used to have faltering economies, now some of us are growing at growth rates that match those in Asia. And we did this without Caucasians or others running things. A country cannot be considered a success unless its indiginous people are at the forefront of it's economy Anne political power. China could not be considered a success if whites controlled the economy and Chinese were relegated to second class citizens of their own country. In time Zimbabwe will have a good economy
