Policies in favor of the family and the recognition of the positive role of religion in society are two of the topics touched upon by the Pope in his address to the new Ambassador of Austria to the Holy See. During the presentation of credentials of the ambassador, the Pope stated that Austria is a country in which the peaceful coexistence of different religions and cultures is a long tradition. The recognition of religious freedom allows the Church to exercise its various activities to benefit society as a whole.
