I guess this is like a trailer for the Silmarillion (book, not movie silly!) Sorry about the horrible quality. Pictures by Ted Nasmith, John Howe (found on councilofelrond.com). Not quite sure -what- the music is, but it's in the trailer for LOTR. Found that on arwen-undomiel.com under the Media tab. (Edit: The music's called Gothic Power)
Well, ugh. It would have been if i didn't run out of space in the message and have to rewrite it all. It was genius, really. And that is also the story of how the Silmarillion was written. Tolkien was ready to publish right after The Lord of the Rings. Unwin didn't like it so the author edited to make it more appealing. With all the edits unfinished the son wasn't sure what to do with them. There is much literary discussion about this. Look it up.

This was a challenge to read. Not just the Silmarillion but all these freaking comments! What is a word? And yes, I am also asking which of all these strings of letters are words. Mrs Learn-By-Rote-Teacher-of-Children-who-needs-tell-a-19-they're-9-to-hold-a-conversation-with-him, define for me the word word and point out the slang word that exists here in this message. Then tell me I haven't already caught you. "Slang WORD". Get it? All the irony is here contained. Now FUCK OFF!

@2jesushchrist I wouldn't say it's "all the same". As a theologian, I find such a view horribly misinformed and disrespectful towards the rich complexity of those religions. Yes, Tolkien was Christian and it did colour his works. However, Tolkien himself mentions his hate for allegory and that his work doesn't have hidden meanings. Also, there are many ways to know and be good, not just the Bible. I'm Pagan and consider myself a good person. (Btw, this is seckond1, other account)

didn't tolkien's son continue writing to the ideas of the silmarillion after tolkien passed on? i've tried to read the book and it's so intelligent and creative, but beyond me. so so clever. tolkien was a genius!

@chronographica man I mean WHY are you talking about a king?

@2jesushchrist no good point but I prefer "you can't change a mind who is being a stubborn about a sentence's meaning... and still I couldn't get the answer which of my opinions was groundless. and you say that you're here to enlighten the naive and biggoted and the ignorant but still you haven't done anything but being a stubborn... and let's don't remember that you replied me so it was YOU who showed up...

@lortacfan LOL "Which" I believe; You wouldn't say "which the Hell" would you. but you should check with Mr J H Christ to be sure.
The King who thought he'd found a marvelous tailor who'd created a magical suit when really he was walking around showing his gullibility/balls to the world.

@Azean3200 The question is not wheteher you can read this, but if you want to!
Just try! My version came with maps and information at end of book, so to keep track of the many characters. And if it bores you^^ Just continue reading later.

@ijwi Better still draw your own. You'll save a ton and get to use your own imagination rather than someone elses.

@lortacfan No it can't you are just wrong. What and which are not interchangeable. "Which" in a question requires a choice. "What" requires a definition. You don't know basic English and no you definitely can't change the mind of someone who does by continually demonstrating your ignorance.
You mean you haven't watched it yet?!! the question is why are you STILL here? I'm here to enlighten the naive the biggoted and the ignorant, I would have been redundant but then you showed up.
