On Tuesday, March 15, 2011, Congressman Dent spoke on the House floor in support of H.J.Res.48, a short-term Continuing Resolution that cuts $6 billion in federal spending over the next 3 weeks and provides additional time for Congress to pass a long-term measure that includes broader spending reductions. The resolution passed the House with bipartisan support by a vote of 271 to 158.
Congressman, I understand this bill is a cut, but we are over budget by $1.65 trillion.
The Democrats had their chance to pass a budget for this year before the election but chose not to lead, now the Republicans must and should force deep cuts, that is the only reason they have leadership right now. Also de-funding the 105 Billion hidden in Obamacare must be done now.
