I felt the need to make this response to ShwaNerd. I feel for him in this situation, and I am concerned by the reasoning of his grandmother as he relayed in his video. The charismatic/pentecostal movement has some dangerous tendencies and this is highlighted here.
Overall, I agree with the message of what you're saying. It's wise to seek medical attention when someone is overtaken by an infirmity. My pastor taught me to seek God first for healing. Once you've given God ample time (a few days) (as long as the sickness isn't severe enough), if He hasn't healed you then you should seek medical attention. He states all the time, "Don't be too pentecostal to go to a doctor when God isn't healing your sicknesses."

"God ordains whatever comes to pass." That is all I needed to hear. Then God is responsible for "everything".

although i agree with you entirely...
i have to say that this video is clearly stating opinion and since this particular opinion is harmless or even helpful (unlike that of shwanerds grandmother) i would take it a bit more lightly.
i think personally the advice he gave would work well in the situation. unfortunately i'm a month late lol.
i don't think that he should get greif for trying to help in the only way they know how (even if it is nieve).
it's not like the vid is condesending to sn.

wow are you seriously gonna use the moral argument...??

Concerning your paedophilia example. That law wouldn't be moral, of course. As I said, morality is based on empathy. There's not much empathy involved concerning the child in such a law.

.... or atleast we try to. We humans are not infallible (some are more empathetic than others - it takes time and will for morality to spread through the society .
If you are looking for a perfect moral code, that suits every imaginable situation, try your hand at philosophy and create one. Well, before that put down the bible. Good luck

If I was hiding a family of Jews in my basement and a Nazi soldier knocked on my door and asked if I was hiding any Jews, should I 'not bear false witness' and tell him or should I lie and say "no"?
Morality is far more complex than a stone tablet. It is always shifting based on concious raising. I'm not interested in State laws. Slavery used to be a law and we both know that the Bible is not exactly against slavery.
We know what is right for any given situation based on empathy.

Yes, but that doesn't prove the moral rightness of not stealing or murdering, only that it is of benefit to you. Supposing there was an advantage for someone not to conforming to those principles? Would it then be right. If morality is determined by majority rule, then what if you have a society were a society where paedophila is acceptable. Would it be right because that society has deemed it so?
What rules of almighty God are you talking about?

Good and evil,or right and wrong have nothing to do with scripture. These moral laws are a result of universal preferences, so to speak. No-one wants to die, therefore you shouldn't kill. No-one wants to be stolen from, therefore you shouldn't steal. They are built on empathy and kinship which have been extremely important in our evolutionary growth.
If you followed 'Almighty' God's rules you'd be locked up in prison for life-or worse. This moral dilemma of yours is as fictitious as your religion

"Miracles are rare"
So rare that they have never occurred.
"God has gifted people with great ability to heal"
No, that would be science.
