I think its too complicated.There are other more simple systems.

I would not trust this at all.If anything binds up then the cam and lifters are toast,and probably the whole engine.When sludge builds up around all that stuff and it binds up,good luck!

With those cam followers you lose the pure actuation of the old-style shim/bucket arrangement.
What's tha fail-safe mechanism?
