Cable TV news report engine part fell off from Cathay Pacific's flight and destroyed a vehicle on the ground. There were also a number of incidents around the time. Cathay Pacific denied deterioration of maintenance standard, but put the blame on the design of the engine. Expertise in engineering believe that these incidents were caused by poor maintenance and checks on the aircraft, which could cause the engine to explode.
