  • this guy may do aikido.

    he may act aikido.

but he doesn't understand the idea of aikido.

his mind set is control using fancy moves...

    well basically yah.

he teaches akido with the wrong mindset. If you try to control or use aikido with the mind set of deffense and trying to control it will be very hard to do it.

aikido requires you accept and harmonize.

    not "use against."

  • if you were to practice this 20 times, twice a week with another person, after a while it will become your natural reaction to a threatening person grabbing at you... there are plenty of unrealistic ways to attack and defend in martial arts that only pros could pull off, but this move here is actually very effective and easy to pull off, even for a small guy vs big (if his technique is perfect). Learning off youtube... probably wouldn't work on the street but for any dedicated aikido student...

  • I have always learned to do this technique with an atemi, is there a reason this is not present here?

  • who the fuck will grab u like this?!

  • This is mad hard to do when people throw fast punchs, but if you master the move you can the person your personal puppet :D

  • He forgot to mention to step into the rotation at the end. The majority of moves in Aikido have their force stemming from the lower body's movements. Taking a few small steps like he did at the final push is going to do close to nothing. If you don't believe me, look at some other Aikido moves. It's all in the steps.

  • And the Aggressors Left Arm is of course LIMP....yeah sure...

  • @Glipkin567 where did anyone mention MMA? MMA is sport with rules.

  • @MrPinoy91 you are silly

  • @charlitunaman2002 Brazillian Jujutsu is a sport. They don't fight, they participate in matches.

  • @Glipkin567 MMA is about scoring points. Not 'real life'.

  • @Glipkin567 Wrist locks aren't allowed in most MMA promotions anyway.
