Alcohol and holidays: just what is the link between the two? None other than the National Agency for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse has said Kenya risks losing its youth to alcohol. Glorified in popular culture as cool and looked at as a symbol of coming of age, alcohol is said to be appropriate for both sad and joyous moments. These days, no party is complete without it and that was very apparent as Kenyans welcomed the New Year. In the midst of all this, however, a concert dubbed Totally Sold Out hit the unbeaten path declaring its concert alcohol-free.

  • drinking is definitely in kenyan genes which goes to show that instead of taxing the alcohol maybe we should thinking about investing more on social services to get to the bottom of why kenyans drink. Why do kenyan drink? what are the underlying causes that are sending kenyans to the bottle? btw - what is the minimum drinking age?
