  • Carol ,I Love You !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Carol never ceases to amaze me, she wrote so many songs of the soundtrack of my Life, and now this hit by Freddie Scott, Im always in awe of Carol, The Queen Goddess..no words can do you Justice, Carole King..... God has Blessed us with all your music...Amen

  • Just when I thought I knew all about 60's & 70s hit music. I had no idea Carole & Gerry wrote "Hey Girl". Thank you Lucky...this is gold!

  • Totally the most talented songwriter in her era - just lovely!

  • @ThrillaDaMcColdKilla

Yes, when OTHER artists who can actually sing perform it. IMHO the only song she wrote in which she did a pretty good vocal performance was "It Might As Well Rain Until September". Freddie Scott owned this song. Carole's flat delivery and severely limited vocal range don't begin to convey the power in this song adequately.

  • Check Out Michael Mc Donald's version

  • Wow, I remember the Donny Osmond version. Now I'm trying to figure out if Michael covered it or not. His "Got To Be There" was about the same year, but I either imagined it, or I definitely also remember a Michael Jackson cover of "Hey Girl," because I thought I had both 45s when I was a little kid. I'll keep looking but I think I'm wrong, and have just thought this for a couple decades now! Thanks Picardy for the new info, eh?

  • @BeingTheMedia Oh my, we've boo-booed. It was Donny Osmond so I just found, not Michael that covered it.

  • @BeingTheMedia Not crazy at all, his version is beautiful.

  • @Picardy Michael was about 11 when he covered this song and he did it breathtakingly incredible. I've never heard the George Benson version. I'll have to find that one. I like his other work. But anyhew, "Hey Girl" is my alltime favorite Michael Jackson song ever. Crazy but true.
