Downtown L.A. has no "street entrances" to its few eating establishments. Eating establishments are all restricted to high-rise interiors, and that is during regular business hours. The street grid north of Wilshire, west of Western and South of the Hollywood Hills ending at Pacific Coast Highway is all that remains of the L.A. that I once knew. Outside of the Financial District, eating and retail establishments are worthy of the Third World.

@Audiomonster99 downtown in not dangerous at all, if you stay in the north and downtown LA you are safe, but if you go out in south central LA you might be in danger, so don't wear red or blue clothes if you go to south LA, gangs may see you as a enemy.
