This was the happy moment when I discovered a great Christian and singer, Melinda Doolittle--Jan. 23, 2007 (It would have also been my dad's 75th birthday). My birthday is one day after Melinda's too. Thank you for sharing your joy with us. She became my all-time AI favorite right then and, no matter what happens, she really IS the best EVER to compete on that show, IMO!!!

I don't even watch AI but after discovering Melinda I might have to. This woman is phenomenal. I heard her sing "As Long as He Needs Me" and got chills, it was so good. I then searched every one of her videos and she is just quality all the way. Go Melinda. You are a star, baby.

Not only she is a amazing singer, she lives in the moment with the songs she sings and really brings it to life. Where has she been hiding all this time?? I love that she mentions our Lord in her songs to make it meaningful and personalize it. She has my all of my votes ever since...Big fan

Woohoo Melinda! She's been blessed with such an amazing voice :-) Check out Belmont's web site, they have a page devoted to her and a number to call to get her "number" if you miss the show.

When they take her to Nashville to flim her "home town" I hope she can come back and visit with/sing with her old choir, Chadasha (at Belmont U)-we would be honored to see her & maybe sing with her a lil :) Plus that would be good footage for 'Idol'!

I am her friend too, I went same High School with her: "Union High School" in Tulsa Oklahoma. She was one of Christian Club leader and I was a member of that club "Alpha.." sponsor were Mrs. Janet Flower and Mrs. Yates. Say hello to her for me if you see her and God bless her. The best voice I have ever heard in AI. I hate that program and I live in Brazil, but I'm going to download this season because of Melinda. Too bad people like her and Sundance need AI, but girls like Britney and Jessica Simpson make millions having no talent. Anyway, tell her she's a star already because her voice is a gift from God.
