Hello Emily, I have a question about "leave it" I have tried this and my dog backed away from the treat in my hand or from a treat on the floor, but the problem is that when I taught "sit" I got a back away and then sit, it's like he thinks he has to always back away from me ???? any ideas? for the moment I stopped the "leave it " training and concentrated on getting a sit without the back up but Id like to train the leave it properly. please help : )

@josski32 Same technique, just proof it by using your things as the items to leave. Leave a smelly shoe on the floor to cover in the leave ti game. Play it in different places (proofing).
