The rock is not too hard...its sandstone...easy to shape

ic..no wonder. but that must be a lot of work. i see the entrance design is magnificent. they must be using some kinda sophisticated measuring tool to craft that...

It should still be opened to visitors.I don't think things have changed so much in a few months.When I was there new kinda rooms had been found recently beneath the entrance.Anyway,it's truly impressive.

When i went in 2006, they would not let people in the rooms. It was guarded and blocked. Wish i could have gone in.

Hey, I've been thinking about it, and I really think I went into one of those, but I remember having seen one of them closed to the public... But there are much more beautiful things to see in Petra than those rooms, I wish I could have seen that new discovery, all the ground is made of fallen rocks, so I don't doubt there's much more hidden beneath than what we could see till nowadays. hey..whay now one can go inside? in the future i want to visit this place... whai cannot go inside?
