Hey Alex, I'm happy that Tammy and I can provide inspiration on this topic. I think its important to note that it was a gradual process for us. There were many things that we didn't want to part with but we gradually scaled down smaller and smaller over the course of 5 years. In that time we have realized its our memories, relationships, and experiences that matter more than stuff. Much of the stuff we thought we couldn't live without is now shared by neighbors and friends. Cheers and good luck!

@RainDansez if you are living in that small of a place, there's no room to keep junk. he'd be forced to get rid of it. you don't need normal sized appliances to still be a great cook. you just have to adapt! when my family goes camping, we make steak dinners and omlettes for breakfast and all kinds of things! you could exercise at a gym or OUTSIDE! if it was something you really wanted to do, you could do it and not make excuses for it!

Whoops... I should have finished the video before I posted.
The biggest challange for me living in a tiny house would be needing enough floor space to exercise. I also would need normal size appliances and decent counter space. I cook a lot. My husband holds on to junk which would be where we clash. I love to get rid of it, he loves to keep it. He loves the idea of being rid of all the junk, but he can't seem to part with things he could "one day get money for" lol.

I like your mucas laugh ;) lol
I love the Tiny house idea. I don't think I could go less than 400 sq ft though.
My husband and I could pull it off. I HATE clutter and I feel we have so much junk in our 800 sq ft home already. Having a smaller space would force us to get rid of all that extra crap we never use. And I LOVE the idea of having less bills and more time to spend with each other.

I think the biggest issue would be storage. I have to get rid of alot of stuff before I get a tiny house!
@loganenator Thanks Logan it's comforting to know that it's normal to gradually scale down. I've been working on it since 2007 now and am seeing all of my options unfold. At times though, I have regressed some, which I think is also normal. I couldn't agree more about relationships and experiences. Best to you two and your families!
