The Riptide Movement on Grafton Street

Filmed in early February 2010 on a Kodak Zi8 with an external compressor microphone.

Rendering in Mp4 for Youtube reduced the quality significantly, unfortunately. The Avi file in 1080px looked far better but would have taken 7 hours (seemingly) to upload. Due to originally being shot in 1080px there is a black frame inside the Youtube display.

A sound drop-out near the end meant I'd to cut 4 bars from the song.

Really, I was just testing the potential uses of a hand-camera with external mic kit. Fairly impressed with the Zi8, a tripod would have been useful however. Will use it again in future but for more close-up filming - intereviews etc - as the image tends to blur at distances.

Edited using Sony Vegas - which I'm completely new to, as you may have noticed.

What brand\model mic did you use? The Zi8 is about the only hand held where you can plug in an external mic. Movement artifacting\pixelation is meant to be an issue with the video though, for fast moving scenes. Swings & Roundabouts with these devices..
