  • Thanks Atomic. I could dunk when I was in my late teens, but never tried a box jump so I don't know. I have gotton into jumping in the last year, as I was using it as a training tool to try and get faster for Masters sprint competition. Well, I found that I am a better jumper than sprinter. The two exercises that helped me the most are the Deadlift, and Box Jumping while holding dumbells. I gained 5" on my vertical, and 13" on my Standing Long Jump in the last year. Good Luck

  • I know Randy personally as I work with him. From what I can remember, he is in the top 5% in his age group for the 50 meter dash and is in exceptional shape. Congratulations to you Randy!!

  • Thanks Rick, I appreciate it.

  • Are you kidding? I am up to 48, and was feeling good about myself, and then I see this! LOL, the guys only 2 inches behind me and ONLY 31 years older than I am. And the guy said he is going for 50 inches! One of the most impressive videos I have seen, that's for sure.

  • Thanks JJ , I really appreciate the comments. One thing to keep in mind. Being a young guy , you have a hell of a lot more upside than I do. Good luck.

  • awesome man!

  • If your jumping this high at 55, how high could you jump when you were younger?! o.O props to you man! How do u increase your vertical?

  • @agonizedfever Thank you! A great compliment coming from an all state football player. I have been training since last October, after I found that I had a 21 inch vertical jump without any type of jumping since I was 20. Now I have been training hard and I am going to compete in the World Senior games in Oct for the standing long jump. I can jump 8'7". That would have put me 2nd in last years games. I can also dunk a volleyball sized ball. Google 56 year old dunks. Good Luck with your Football.

  • @rh5918 great job buddy wish i could do that its on my "most wanna do list". how long did it take for you to get that good. im a 18 year old all state football player so be proud that ur better than me. haha good job again!

  • Thanks Rick, I'm 22 years old and reached 46 inch today. Someone didn't believe me so i went to youtube to show him how high it is. Then a video of a 55 year old doing the same is the first hit. Damn there goes my pride
