I do have the 'urgency' doc K talks about, in viewing whole genres and whole back catalogues of a directors ouvre. And sure i have a big DVD collection and I pay for a subscription to lovefilm, but I'm out of pocket in a big way lol!

I just had to watch this again. Now it strikes me as a jazz riff on the theme of horror, audiences, and the cinema-going experience itself. The video takes on a life of its own, not just a record of Kermode's rap, but a videomaker's look at a critic sharing his love of cinema.

It's so true what Mark says about Hollywood horror, it's all just remake after remake after remake, with the occasional pseudo original movie but beneath the surface they're still just plagarisms of old classics. France is producing the best horror films right now in my opinion with fantastic films like Martyrs, A l'interieur and the classic Switchblade Romance aka Haute tension.

weirdly enough he thought the remake of Last House on the Left was ok!

Oddly enough I didn't think it was too bad myself, it was just pointless really as it didn't have anything to say that hadn't already been said in the original. It's definitely an easier watch than the original film.

Hey Mcrevys, thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. The music was a personal edit decision based on the fact that I just had a gut instinct that it would just add a little something to the opening, and then I thought it worked for the whole thing so left it.

I've found it really interesting the way this vid has had many interpretations and opinions about the editing and the music so thanks for adding to the discussion.
