This is the diesel bike I've just completed and on its first test run. It is a BMW R80 and a German V twin stationary engine

The engine is a Motorenwerk Cunewalde 2VD 8/8 - 2SVL often found in the Multicar M22 and generator power plants.

It does about 65mph! and I'm still working out MPG :)

  • Theres a whole group of VW bug engines bikes if you go looking. Try yahoo group vwmotorcycles

  • God bless you man, we need diesel motorcycles here in the US. Have you figured a way to fit a radiator to it and one that will actually cool down that big engine?

  • @seanautube

It's air cooled and hasn't had any overheating issues in the 5000 miles or so its already done.

  • what is the mpg on it?

  • I've not had it running properly yet but hopefully I'll have the bits to finish it next month.

I'm expecting between 80 and 100 mpg (UK gallons)
