How do you follow a recording as incredible as "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling"? It wasn't easy, but Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield once again combined their vocal talents with producer Phil Spector on "Just Once In My Life", a song composed by the legendary team of Gerry Goffin and Carole King (Spector also took credit on this one). The recording peaked at #9 during the spring of 1965.

  • cause of death? & what year? ~ just listened to a version of Unchained Melody ~ billed as Bobby Hatfield ~ but is actually someone else ~ whew ~ I quickly found the real voice! lol

did you grow up in NY? I am grateful that I did as now I live in WNC & if it were not for internet radio & youtube ~ my listening pleasure would be awfully meager!

Oh & I just found Brown Eyed Woman ~ & started crying as I haven't heard that tune in maybe 30 years! Is Bill Medley a heavy smoker? Do you kno?

  • @JennEssa2012 Bobby Hatfield died of a heart attack brought on by an overdose of cocaine in 2003. I have no idea as to Bill Medley's living habits.

  • Well I still honor you in putting these remastered recordings on youtube for my weary ears ~ are they still performing live ? Many Blessings to you Nocaro ~

  • @JennEssa2012 Unfortunately, Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers died a few years ago and I personally count my lucky stars that I got to see them perform live before he passed away. Bobby's voice especially on "Unchained Melody" was a thing to behold.

  • oh thank you Nocaro ~ this is not only one of my favorite sungs I've never forgotten ~ can still sing the words accapella cause I kno it so well ~ these days I'm lucky if I can find players that kno how to play Soul & Inspiration ~ the sound quality is surprizingly excellent ~ where was your source ~ other clips from recordings of the past sound worn ~ this is perfect !

  • @JennEssa2012 My YouTube Channel consists of mostly pristine recordings and in some cases "remastered" recordings of the original. About the only time you will hear something other than the best copy available is when I've had to transfer from vinyl to mp3 because the original is not available in any other format at the present time.

  • Remember when this was on 8track, and a date night essential!!!!

  • @Mufaso1000 Oh? Yeah. Like I'm thrilled to now be living in an era of unbridled gang violence, in most major cities, drugs galore, with drug cartel murders on the rise. My old high school now has to have an iron fence around the entire perimeter of it. (It now looks like a jail.) A person who strives to live by religious morals is now deemed a backwater prude and out-moded. Smuttiness is now championed on entertainment circuit.

You daaaamn well better believe I want to go back to the 60s!!

  • @jkoncz .. Thanks. A chance meeting with Alex North in the mid-80's at an L. A. bookstore. As I entered the store there he was - when the moment was right - I approached. As he was autographed some index cards, I asked him, "Mr. North in your expert opinion who did the best version of "Unchained Melody" ? He said, "why Bobby Hatfield, the young man from Orange County." He had stated that

Hy Zaret agreed his Andy Williams (10-25-65) appearance had all of them

    crying.

  • @juvenilehall1979 nice note and good to hear they were so nice

  • @Nocaro ... Bobby Hatfield was one of the nicest, kindest, gentleman

I have ever gotten to know - since 1962 in San Jose, CA. He kept in

touch with any fan that wrote him - I'm one of them. Bill Medley, is just

as nice as Bobby - these guys were the best. Bill is 71 years and still

performing today. Check out Bill singing "Peace, Brother, Peace,"

written for him by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, I believe God came

down and took Bobby "Home to Eternal Rest" in Heaven.

  • fantasic sound, the crap we put up with in the uk now is a disgrace!

  • Thank you, Nocaro...

  • @Nocaro

That's so tragic! I know we all have to die, but due to a cocaine overdose? That was 100% PREVENTABLE!

  • ALWAYS
