Really. i mean the camera is like 5"x4" and takes video in 720p. not bad for something that fits in your back pocket! all of my HD video up was shot using this camera.

you go on windows movie maker and go to tools - options- advanced and you will see the settings aspect ratio put that to 16:9.

you need to customize the video size, try 960 x 540 that should do the trick.

hey i have a sony cyber shot too. how do you get the video to show full screen without any black edges?!? my vieos always do that :(
