I really like all the guitar reviews on youtube so I thought I'd give a little back and make a little vid of my new J Mascis signature Jazzmaster which I got yesterday. Its not a great video but it'll do haha. I was playing with a kay amp a Boss Metal zone and Boss Ds1 and a Digitech digiverb

  • Hey!

From 0.46 to 1.00 the sound is really amazing, it reminds me the sound of "to here knows when" for an example...

Are you only using the Digitech Digiverb from 0.46 to 1.00? How did you get this sound? Cause I love MBV and I want to get that kind of sounds ! Thanks! :D

  • HI,

Yeah I was just using the digiverb with everything set so the tone was vet with no dry signal really, Hope this helps : )

  • Great clean tone. I am getting a Classic Player for Christmas. I'd get the Mascis, but I like higher output more.

  • hey,

thanks for the comment. I played the classic player in a shop near by and they are such amazing guitars and I prefer the lock in tremelo arm on the classic player as opposed to the one on the mascis that always falls out haha

  • awesome. Some very My Bloody Valentine-esque stuff there in the beginning. Me likey.

  • Hey,

Thanks for your comment. haha yeah with my playing im surprised you could tell it was MBV lol

  • what pedal are you using to get the reverse reverb?

  • hey, is that 'when you sleep'?

  • Do you use an MXR Blue Box in the last part [before you play that part from Almost Ready]? Sounds like it.

  • both you guys:

ever considered looking into the problem yourselves?

cause in fact it's quite easy to get rid of it.

just take off the tremolo and slightly squeeze together the part where the arm is stuck. should work!

    just be careful with it.

  • love your shirt.... and your guitar ist also cool! :D

  • I'm in need of some assistance. I'm not a real big fancy connoisseur of guitars and whatnot, but I'm going to buy another guitar soon. What seems like the best buy? One of the new SY signature guitars, J Mascis', or a vintage '62 Jazzmaster? I'm thinking of going into a dreamy lush sound of guitar and make use of SY type of off tuning, but not exactly a copy. Lush as in MBV, off tuning as in SY, and the catchy-ness of Dinosaur Jr. Which one seems like the best bet?

  • It's almost as if you spent all your 'licks' in the 1st few moments and you forgot that you were doing. Get with the program; if you are gonna play a Jazzmaster--no!-A J Mascis signature Jazzmaster, get to rockin or something. Or--here is the good part--learn a few J songs and play them & put them on here. Nice guitar, I have one, but, I don't know what you are doing here. Happy playing.

  • I have a Saturn 63, which has body and tremolo just like a Jazzmaster, and it's tremolo is always falling out like that. I feel your pain.
