  • I have a run that I would love for you to watch a critique! Also I have a hard time setting him up for the first because he tries to swerve to the fence(going to the right side of the barrel) instead of setting up on the left side. I have to lift him the entire time on the way to the first and it really slows up down! If you have any ideas or comments on anything let me know!

The video should be the only one I have! Horsiehergie

    Barrel run!!-watch and comment

  • Thanks so much for this video this is definitely how my big paint rides however i have a question how can you get a extreme free runner to sit better and actually turn i have awesome horse that i have slow worked trail rode and he still gets by do you have video that will help thanks :-)

  • Okay i understand the video, but if im not supposed to look at my barrel how will i know when my knee gets there? D:

  • i must say you are right on with this video i know from first hand experince my chico horse is the first hand push horse i have to ride him all the way into the turn i usaly push half stride past the barrel he desent cheat or shoulder just cant wait to trun i use words hey hey to rate and hole to set and trun i love your videos and you are differntly "EYE CANDY" i will be posting videos of my jr horse "IMA EASY SMASHIMIMG PIMP' PIMP FOR SHORT ya i named him...lol this spring

  • @lyfetymeinc93 It doesn't really matter what vocal command you use, so long as its something the horse associates with rating. That's all the "whoa" is, a rate command. I teach my colts by saying "Heyyyy", calm, smooth, in the same relaxed manner as "Whoa" but since "Whoa" is also the stop command, I try to differentiate. But not my push style mare, because she wasn't trained by me so her rate command is "Whoa".

  • oh ow! i bet ur knee looked great after that one! i know the feeling!

  • Thank you sooo much :) I may not be a barrel racer, but me and my new horse have been through the ringer just trying to get used to each other. Im happy to see that even the best have their bad days. It makes me feel better about my decision of buying a young horse for my first horse. People laughed at me for that decision. But in the end, he turned out exactly what I wanted and needed, despite his age. :) thanks again,

  • Thanks for posting this fallon. :) It really helped. My horse really gets down and sets to early for the barrels, but this video also made me recognize that it might be me causing her to set early. We havent knocked a barrel yet this season with her early sets but Im going to work on this. :) Once again, thanks.

  • So cute, sweet, funny, talented, real and honest. I appreciate your videos! Keep em coming!

  • @animalsalways102 same wit me it lets him no somethings gonna happen when i say hear
