it's sad that only few comments got the point of the film (it's similar to Babel and 21 Gram in term of principles and storyline). I loved it and I encourage everyone with good taste to watch it. It's a deep movie shown in simple things. and stop wondering where is mammoth (you can google and read its reviews before watching it).

The theme of the movie is about how the choices we make (as seen through the eyes of the three principle characters in the surgeon, her hubby and their domestic help) can have tragic consequences, to put it simply.

Mammoth is a metaphor for the idiom of a " White Elephant" where the cost of doing something is greater than the reward. It was also the pen used by the husband, which was made of mammoth bone, ironically being something thought to be of high value but ended up being less so.
