Name me a better rhythm guitarist than Pete Townshend??? He has never been comfortable with the dual role of lead/rhythm...WOW!

Yep, Pete is without a doubt, one of Rocks finest rhythm guitarists. That triplet strum of his is perfection. Not a bad singer either.

I though he couldn't the flamenco stuff anymore after he broke his wrist?
Apparently he can.
Not quite as to the front as 1979 but it's still there.
Great.
I love Pete's acoustic stuff.

Pete is a key reason why I began playing guitar, over 30 years ago. "Pinball Wizard" was the first complete song I ever learned to play. Despite being a brilliant composer, MAN did he ever inspire guitarists. Powerchords, windmills, huge leaps and slides across stage - what an incredible performer. In fact, just about every air guitarist alive cops Pete's signature moves. So many years later, Pete still plays his songs like he just composed them - full-tilt boogie - he NEVER phones it in!

Sunrise early who

he sure can play that guitar...

sorry for the super late reply, but... Stevie Ray Vaughan was in the same league as Pete, but I'd say he also stands alone because he could play both lead and rhythm at the same time.

That's at La Zona Rosa...it was the "pete and friends" show...Mika was there...I'm about a foot away from the person filming

This is purely a Pete's song! One of his best!!
