i played a little when i was in the army, and enjoyed it big time. nothing like this level though. our drum major, a 2btn royal anglian, told us that the top drum corps, including the marines use a ghost tipping method. is this true/common. Timed rightly it would be hard as playing for real.

You've got the complete video of this whole event??
-
thats how you do it
-
why do they bring their sticks up to their noses?
-
beating retreat?
-
by playing with the liter rm sticks it maybe harder but it will make u a better drummer! eventually it just wont matter what sticks you play with! your drums will be hard to play on but they encourage you t be lazy so you sould apply more pressure to the sticks which will give you better control and sound better rather than using the bonce!
Do you have to use traditional grip?

@drumhead95
All use traditional grip except when there is a static when a Premier HTS200 is used, then the 1st's player does whatever he needs to do to get the desired result for what he is playing

Stick drill is an ancient form of semaphore for communication across the battle field. As far as I understand.
