Reducing carbon pollution is generally good, but cap and trade is just a loophole for corporations to escape theri responsibility. The better approach is to tax fossil fuels, but the public has been brainwashed into thinking that they are the ones who finance the country, so any tax is a hard sell.

As soon as people see their state services wither away it may be possible to sell a tax increase on corporate wealth since they are the ones with a decade of record profits and fat bank accounts.
