A beautiful poem by Abu Hamid al-Ghazali, a great thinker who lived in the 12th century. This video is set to music by Fayrouz and the Rabhani Brothers called Habaytek.

This poem was slightly edited for artistic reasons. For a free copy of the original unedited, go to http://TheWindsofMercy.googlepages. com (Note there is no www. in the address). You can also just click on the link in my profile or on my channel page.

  • From 800AD to 1100AD the scientific center of the world was Baghdad . this came a great number of scientific discoveries about astronomy, mathematics, medicine, engineering. However something happened that led to the end of this age of science in the Islamic world. What happened was a scholar (Imam Hamid al-Ghazali) who put forth the idea that mathematics was the work of the devil. This plus other things led to the collapse of that scientific tradition, and it has not since recovered.

  • Imam Ghazali has had quite a profound effect on me for the past few yrs. I have read some of his work, and this man was truly a gift to us. We should really take advantage of some of his works. This documentary on him is amazing. I have already watched it twice and inshAllah it will help me on my journey: youtube.com/watch?v=FyDOVC4BuIU
