And dont get me wrong i mean i listen to alot of mainstream music for the right occassions (going out etc), but when i hear shit like Soulja boy is a top rapper and people just dismiss the less known ones it pisses me off, cus i feel the pain being an artist myself that alot of us are unapprieciated.

I think it's psychological, basically anyone who falls for our american culture is weak minded and easily impressionable. A sign of low self-esteem to eagerly fit in to the 'in" crowd because the record companies over promote him, so the kids think it's cool because he is "over promoted'. Basically in the U.S. as long as you are popular you will have fans even if you have no talent. The majority of us are idiots.

@UndergroundOutsider Yeah, man It doesn't make sense for today's shitty artists to have all the appreciation but the good rappers to have less.....I'm sorry man but I just don't like mainstream at all. But yes I do listen to Some Mainstream too, but it's approximately 10% of it. Underground rap has better beats, better lyrical creativity, good music, and a lot of style and talent. I don't just like oldschool rap but I love almost any type of song as long as it's OLDSCHOOL. And that's a fact lol

Soulja Boy and Pitbull are the worst rappers ever. Pitbull doesn't even do rap music. He does some RnB electro shit. And Soulja Boy is completely retarded. I don't hate Lil Wayne because he has some decent songs. All the rappers that you mentioned are awesome. My favourite are 50 cent and Ice Cube.
