I feel the majority of American people don't care much about what the politicians say or do. They think their country is so powerful, even the politicians made some stupid mistakes, everything would be all right in the long run. Only after the serious foreign policy blunder followed by recent major economic disasters, coupled with the record-breaking oil price, some people slowly realize their country is not as almighty as before. But it's not easy to aquire critical thinking skills overnight.
