This makes sense. Osama stopped releasing videos some years ago. I heard that his internet access had been restricted or stopped. It also suggests that the Pakistani military has some considerable influence upon Al Qaeda. This might explain why there have been so few attacks against the West in recent years. Osama appears to have been a hostage. The location of the compound next to an Army officers' academy suggests that he was a prisoner.
..maybe he became a figurehead.. I don't think we're being told the whole truth. Re the no internet service, the media assumes it was OBL's choice for security's sake..it could just as easily have been his "jailers" choice, to hide his location.
Interesting comment. OBL is the head of drug cartel, which is essentially what al Qaeda is. i can see him living in compound out of necessity given the wars between rival drug factions.
Sounds like a lot of conjecture to me, but I could be wrong.
