Young people have been hardest hit by the economic crisis as they often lack the experience and skills to be competitive. Today one in five young Europeans cannot find a job. However the Youth@Work action aims at showing that thanks to their fresh take on the world, young people often have innovative ideas and energy. Oens Murer is a Danish SME set up in Copenhagen and specialises in the renovation of buildings. The company currently has 16 apprentices and around 20 employees aged between 20 and 30. According to Production Manager, Jens Jacob Paludan, young people possess qualities that are important to the SME and, in return, they are provided with the practical training that will, one day, allow them to take over the running of the company.
