Selena's POV-
"Joe give me my green crayon!" I exclaimed. I rolled my eyes as Joe hung it high over his head. "Gimme it or I'll burn your glow in the dark Barney shirt! You know you love to stare at it" . I smiled smugly as Joe stopped and handed me the crayon. "you're not allowed
to use fire!" Joe said loudly."Any way to get my crayon back,"I teased. Joe's five year old face became sulky as he began to pout. "Get over it, green's my favourite!" I tried. "I don't care I wanted it," Joe whined. "Stop whining," I rolled my eyes and sat back down on my jacket, "C'mon are you gonna color with me or not?"
I asked ponting to the space on my jacket beside me. Although I'd only met this kid five minutes ago, I had a feeling that we'd be best friends.

4 years later
Joe's POV-
"promise me something Joe," I heard Selena's soft voice beside me as we lay looking at the stars, sure we were only nine but that was something we liked
to everyone once in a while. Selena and I were pretty mature for our age after all, "what is it?" I asked looking down at her my eyes were soft. I'd always loved Selena
she was like my sister if anyone had ever tried to hurt her I'd hurt them, worse."Promise me, we'll always be best friends. Through everything," she said as she locked eyes with mine.
"Well duh we'll be best friends for ever I pinky promise," I held out my pinky finger for Selena. We both smiled as we wrapped our pinkies around each pthers.

5 Years Later-
Selena's POV-
"Joe your face is reeeeally close," I said nervously. "ssh," Joe murmered getting closer. God I was fourteen and I was getting my first kiss from my best friend.
Would this change things between us? Would we still be friends? Would I be able to face him again? Joe's forehead was resting on mine now, "Sel," he whispered
I couldn't speak my breath was too deep. All of a sudden Joe's lips were pressed softly against mine, I kissed him back. His lips were unbelievbly soft as he kissed me.
Suddenly his mouth opened opening mine with it, his warm breath mingled with mine, "I love you," he breathed. "I love you too,2 I gasped. I was breathless. I couldn't
believe that Joe my best friend was actually kissing me, he loved me. And I loved him too, nothing woulf change that.

2 Years Later-
Joe's POV-
I groaned as I heard my alarm go off. Instead of getting out of bed I just pushed my alarm clock of my bedside locker and tried to go back to sleep. Two years ago
I would've been excited, yet another year of school with Selena but now she hated me. Can't say I blame her, ever since we broke up we haven't talked. I felt tears
well up in my eyes as I thought about her. I can't imagine what will happen today.

Selena's POV-
Perfect. et another year of high school with...him.. Jerk. I can't imagine what school will be like seeing Joe and Taylor showing their love all over school.
Gross. I pulled on my sweater and fogged down my stairs and answered the door just as Nick rang the doorbell. "Hey Sel," she said kissing me on the cheek. "Hey Nick," I mumbled.
Nick frowned. Yes I was in another bad mood. Ugh..his car smells...
Once we pulled into school Nick turned to face me. "I'llsee you later," he smiled for my benefit. Yeah good luck making me smile. "Later," I said quietly getting out of the car.
