Absolutely stunning. Beautiful voice and person.
Perfect as always, Sumi Jo.

There is only one word needed for this performance.
Perfection.

In my view you are correct.
Slavishly following rules does not make for a great performance or indeed performer. Some are never happy, Sumi has also been slated for technical perfection and therefor lack of emotion????
They expect to see ugly grimacing and exaggerated facial expressions they think that's where singers show emotion LOL
Sumi Jo was at the height of her powers here, absolutely breath taking, never bettered, indeed for me no one even comes close.
Long live Sumi Jo!!!

@tadcastria you think a singer sing belcanto repertoire must add legato in every passage? no one have sung like that.

que le pusieron CAIRELES de UNA LAMPARA EN LA CABEZA ????

She is Bel Canto ♫♪

Wow thanks for this video, I love this woman
Sumi Jo with a suntan! Takes some getting used too. Such a voice and beauty combined, she really is the ultimate package.
There are other great voices but not combined with such physical perfection. Also no one else has the ability to make such gorgeous facial expressions whilst singing their hearts out, often they look as if they are in agony.
Sumi Jo, my number one forever!!!!

@tadcastria there is a difference between applying bel canto technique and portraying a dramatic character / situation. Simply listening for the application of specific aspects technique is not an appreciation of the performance. There are many singers who try to sing this repertory and do so badly... Sumi Jo has for many years been one of the primary exponents of bel canto technique and superb dramatic characterization. I think this performance only serves to confirm that.
