Video Cropping PowerDirector 8 Tutorial

Made with PowerDirector8, this tutorial shows some of the purposes and techniques involved with video cropping. Removing areas to give focus, creating zoom & pan motion & simulating an extra camera view are dealt with. A future tutorial will treat combining clips from different cameras in more detail.

Using Video Crop in PD will ALWAYS keep the aspect ratio constant. If you want to crop to a different AR, just apply a mask in PiP Designer... make sure you uncheck "Maintain Aspect Ratio".

How do you prevent the cropping tool from snapping on to the video like at 2:08? I only need to crop the edges of my video. Any help?

@JagOwnz G'day - in the Crop Video window, just uncheck "Snap to Reference". That'll give you finer control of the cropping area.

@oksu132 Easy! Put your video in track 1. In the Media Library, extract the audio from the other video. Now drop the .WAV file into one of the audio tracks.
