I have taken a R. Strauss song, Muttertandelei (from 3 Songs, Op. 43), originally written for high voice (soprano) and piano (later orchestrated by Strauss), and rewritten it for voice and piano. Why do such a thing? Because I thought I could present a very different version of a really wonderful song. Other than the text, most of the melody, and some of the harmonic material, the versions are nothing alike. The (high) voice part ranges from A 2 to D1, and is in the key of G. At a later date I may transpose the work to F. Contact me if you are interested in a performance of this work as it stands presently. (This version is the piano reduction--and incorporates the voice into the piano). Regards!
