Dave had the absolute best music I had ever heard as a kid. Maniac Mansion was a bit challenging for a young kid, but Dave's Theme made me keep playing as I couldn't get enough of the song. So, here's my tribute to the theme from the original Nintendo by composing it in Mario Paint. I hope you enjoy :)

Sweet! Glad I could make you happy :D Keep rocking in Central America!

  • loved this game so much, i still have my original copy that i used to play as a kid about 15 years ago! how long did it take you to make this?

  • @smpxix I'm guessing it took about 5 hours. Most of the time spent was just making sure the main riff's timing was correct and on beat. and some fudging with the octave in the 3rd part... (the latter half is an octave lower than the NES version cause I ran out of high notes)

    :)

  • Goddamn son, pretty much perfect.

  • Awesome job! WOW. I had Maniac Mansion and Mario Paint as a kid. Maniac Mansion is one of my all time favorite games. Way ahead of its time. Nothing else like it. The best, hilarious, MOST creative story. Totally interactive gameplay. Awesome music!

I agree, this is the greatest Mario Paint rendition of anything ever.

  • Fucking incredible

  • WOW! Kudos to you for your skills in Mario Paint! What a great song to recreate!

  • Hol...ly... sh..........!

  • From the moment I heard Dave's music I fell in love with it. Starting the game and seeing that big moon in the backround was awesome. I hated having to switch characters cause you lost the music, but when you switched back to Dave it was like "hell yeah, we got the hero back again!" Sadly I never discovered this NES gem growing up as a child and only found out about it a year ago. I would have loved to play this back in the day of the NES.

  • Insane.

  • wow, great job in making it so faithful to the original
