IMHO, the current swine flu epidemic/pandemic is being blown way out of proportion. It is yet another strain of flu (albeit a strange combination of avian, swine, and human [with a patent, perhaps?]) and runs its course usually in a week.

The severe outbreak in Mexico is most likely due to the overcrowded, unsanitary conditions, and squalor that many people live in and poor nutrition due to the economic hardships the people of Mexico are being forced to endure.

This could also be nothing more than a red herring to divert Americans' attention from being fed up with our diminishing constitutional rights, outrageous national debt, and ever increasing taxes.

BE WARY! Keep your eye on the news below the fold in the coming days...

  • look if it was that bad usa wouldn have sports events going on with crowds, here in mexico soccer games are played with no people at stadiums, there is no way something like this can be just a supermodified virus on its own, besides the media is not giving names of people dying , no interviews of the familys, no names of hospitals , no basic information just panic1 panic 2 panic 3 panic 4

  • How true and great logic!

    Panic = viewing audience...viewing audience = advertising revenue...advertising revenue = increased profit.

    The media will tire of this story as soon as people are aware that MOST people are recovering.

    The strain diminishes with every contact it makes and will very quickly die out when daily temperatures increase going into summer.

  • it seems only third world countries like mexico die from this flu. i odn't undersatnd why. anyways its the news and other media types blew this out of proportion. if the health officals are really worried then quarantine those who are infected then to stop any farther outbreaks. i heard that the cases in mexico are going down now. so will that mean this swine flu will go away soon? hope so cus the medai doesn't give full truths about it.

  • Good common sense deathjoker666! Most people in third world countries suffer because they are malnourished, many times live in overcrowded conditions & squalor, and have poor access to adequate medical care.

    The current outbreak should be out of the headlines & dwindling in 2 - 3 weeks.

    Since the government and media are slow to tell the populous what truly is going on, please see my website MyARRP and click on the RealTime World Disaster Map to keep up on natural disasters & health watches.

  • so this isnt true?

  • Eat a balanced diet and watch your nutrition. Taking care of yourself is the FIRST defense against infection.

  • As with all flu strains, take proper precautions and frequently WASH YOUR HANDS, cover mouth when sneezing or coughing, plenty of rest, hot clear fluids (egg drop soup is Chinese penicillin!), and keep yourself hydrated.

    AVOID crowded places for the time being, people sneezing and coughing, and try to keep from touching hands to your eyes, nose and mouth especially at the store or public places.

  • Yes, karlaluvsdavid, there is an oubreak of the A (H1N1) strain of influenza; however, I believe that they are blowing way out of proportion. Why? To frighten the masses into staying at home instead of attending tax tea parties and becoming politically involved OR as a diversion to something else they have up their sleeve (re: Wag the Dog.)

    The facts are simple: a very nasty strain of flu currently being transmitted from person to person.
