GREAT BULGARIAN MOVIE AND GREAT SONG!
-

The movie is not exactly Bulgarian, it's a co-production between several countries. Most of the actors are Bulgarians and the movie is mainly screened in Bulgaria. One of the producers is also Bulgarian, but he has relatively small part (250 000 EUR from around 6 million EUR budget). The movie is based on the novel by Bulgaria-born author Ilia Troyanov, who lives and works in Germany since his age of 6 (he doesn't even speak Bulgarian very well). It's said there's some autobiographic motive.

@fakewalka thats right. and the actors of the main characters aren't bulgarian as well. Carlo Ljubek, who plays the adult Sashko is german (but he has croatian parents) and Miki Manojlovic, who plays Bai Dan is serbian.

@Vulpecula and to @fakewalka ..ho both of you ..the autor speaks very good Bulgarian and yes the main actors are not bulgarians, it is cooproduction because of money...but also the stuff which mades this movie, the whole team are mostly Bulgarians as for example the director(producer)..and if you both have red a bit more about the movie and have wathched some interviews with the stuff you should know better. Or tell me now it is a german movie...smart asses..nothing else but complaining

@zoueto nobody said it's a german movie. it is in fact a coproduction between between slovenia, hungaria, bulgaria and germany and the prduction companies are Pallas Film, RFF international and Vertigo. You can see every information on the production companies websiites.
What actually is your problem? I find it great, that europe is working together. And besides: I talked several times to Carlo Ljubek, who played Alexander and who has BTW a german passport and works at german theatres and TV;
