Tales of the Abyss - Final Boss (Unknown Mode, Part 1)

Here we are. The final boss. At least, part 1 of it. Just like nearly every RPG type game ever, there's more than one fight for the final boss. This game is no exception. So the not so surprising boss is Van, again. It's a really fun set of fights, IMO. Don't walk into this fight if you're under LV130. I think I was LV135.

Preparation: Well, you know. Buy as many healing items as possible, just in case I guess. Best weapons you have too. You auto have Key of Lorelei now, and even though it's not the ultimate weapon for Luke, it's still good and allows you to do his second Mystic Arte under certain circumstances. Tear heals as always, Jade Arte spams, etc. Nothing new with the setup.

Strategy: I'll discuss the first two fights strategy, which is all basically in part 1. The next fight is in the next part. Okay so Van has nearly all the same moves. He's just more powerful. Avoid his attacks best you can. The AI will get slammed with his attacks a lot, not much you can do about it. Just make sure Tear is alive and constantly healing so you're good. He has a crap ton of HP, but both first and second fight he shares the same HP so second fight starts about half way through his HP. Just avoid his attacks the same way you've done in the past.

That's about it for this video. Do beware of the second fight, near the beginning he seems to always use his second Mystic Arte. It hurts, a lot. It seems to be possible to hit everyone, although somehow it missed Jade at 8:16. So try to make sure everyone is fully healed at the beginning of the second fight. Other than that, the second fight carries out the same as the first.
