Location:
This hotel is located on Pangkor Laut, a privately owned island located 5 km off the west coast of Malaysia in the Straits of Malacca. Although the island encompasses a total of 300 acres, only a fraction has been developed to house the resort and residences. The rest is covered by lush and unspoilt two million year old rainforest, with coves of beautiful sandy beaches surrounded by an emerald sea. As the island is only accessible to the guests of the resort and its residences, it is truly perfect for a private holiday or honeymoon getaway.

Facilities:
This club resort comprises a total of 148 Malaysian-style luxury villas and eight magnificent residences in a nearby secluded cove. Amongst the facilities of this air-conditioned establishment count a lobby with a reception desk manned around the clock, a hotel safe and a currency exchange facility. Guests are also invited to take advantage of the room and laundry services available. The resort offers many fine dining opportunities and has been widely praised for its attentive and gracious service. Voted Number One in the World by Condé Nast Traveller (October 2003 issue), this establishment consistently ranks highly on the itinerary of international pleasure seekers.

Rooms:
All accommodation is elegantly designed and furnished, yet complements and blends in with the surrounding natural environment. There is a choice of 5 different villa styles: Spa Villas, Sea Villas, Beach Villas, Garden Villas and Hill Villas. There are also 3 elegant 1-bedroom suites and 8 magnificent residences are situated on an adjacent, secluded bay. The villas are all designed to accommodate 2 guests. All accommodation features spacious interiors, luxurious fabrics, and private balconies with cushioned deckchairs. The en suite bathrooms have large mirrors, and, depending on the villa, a separate shower and oversized tub in a private outdoor courtyard or with large windows opening out onto the tropical gardens or sea. All villas have central or individual air conditioning, king-size beds, a writing desk, an electronic safe, a direct dial telephone, hairdryer, a mini fridge, a TV and coffee and tea making facilities. Additionally, there is a CD player with a large selection of music available from the library.

Sports/Entertainment:
This hotel features a wide range of facilities and activities for guests including three different jungle treks through the rainforest accompanied by the hotel's experienced and informative resident naturalist, Mr. Yip Yoon Wah. The walks are free of charge and offer a fascinating insight into the spectacular virgin rainforest that is estimated to be over 2 million years old. Some of the interesting wildlife to be spotted on the island includes crab-eating macaque monkeys, tropical monitor lizards and yellow pied hornbills. There are also opportunities for island-hopping, fishing, tennis, aerobics, golf and a range of water activities including kayaking, sail-boarding, sailing, water skiing and catamaran sailing. This resort also features the award-winning Spa Village where guests may relax with a massage.

Meals:
Guests will find dining at the resort a delightful experience. With a choice of superb venues, the options range from authentic Malay to traditional Chinese. The restaurants are as follows: the Samudra, Palm Grove Cafe, Uncle Lim's, Royal Bay Beach Club and the Sri Lagenda Lounge.

Payment:
Payment is accepted by American Express, MasterCard and VISA.

How to get there:
From the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Sepang, either transfer to the resort in a private car via the coastal town of Lumut, or take an internal flight on Berjaya Air from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang. Upon arrival at Pangkor Airport, the resort's friendly staff will assist you with your transfer by boat to the resort.
